OUR SHINING STARS

MEET SUNDAY DIXON

When I first met Sunday, she was described by her mother as a shy, introverted little girl overflowing with untapped gifts and talents. But at the time, she was struggling academically, and her confidence was starting to fade. Concerned and determined to support her daughter, Sunday’s mother reached out in search of the right tutor, and that’s when I came into the picture.

From the moment we connected, I saw something special in Sunday. There was a spark in her, something bright and full of promise. I knew right away—this girl was a STAR in the making.

Our first priority wasn’t academics — it was building belief. I focused on nurturing her self-confidence, speaking life into her, and helping her realize that she was capable, powerful, and full of potential. From there, we began the work on improving reading comprehension, boosting her grades, and creating strategies tailored to her strengths.

Throughout this journey, I always reminded her mother: “Speak life into her. Highlight her gifts. Be her biggest supporter.” And her mother did exactly that. Sunday’s success is a direct reflection of not just her hard work, but the unwavering support and openness of her family.

Today, Sunday is shining.

She’s an honor roll student, a cheer squad member, and has even been featured in VOGUE

Her mother now proudly calls her a social butterfly who’s thriving academically and personally.

“She is a reminder that when talent, belief, support, and guidance come together, anything is possible. I’m incredibly proud of the young woman Sunday is becoming and I know her story is just beginning. ”
